The study shows that resilience professionals are in agreement on why they have programs and what they are attempting to achieve through business continuity plans.

Most respondents were also in agreement that recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO) are part of their data governance programs. A huge 75 percent said RTO was part of their program metrics, with 68 percent saying RPOs were used. The next closest metric used was return to normal operations (RNO) at 32 percent.
A majority of those who responded, 63 percent, said their companies measured the performance of their business continuity or disaster recovery programs through business continuity plan exercises. About 41 percent reported that they regularly conduct full scenario testing of their plans. Only 18 percent said they never run exercises..
